Workshop with ZaChoeje Rinpoche

Saturday October 4, 10:00am-4:00pm

The three principal aspects of the path to enlightenment are:

  • Determined mind: A strong wish to free oneself from Samsara and to attain Nirvana.
  • Altruistic intention: An aspiration for Enlightenment for the benefit of all sentient beings.
  • Wisdom: A supreme understanding of the truth.

In this teaching, Rinpoche will explain, in clear and readily accessible terms, Jamgon Lama Tsongkhapa’s The Three Principal Aspects of the Path, a famed presentation of these three essential topics.

Swim party, Sunday August 31

Please mark your calendar to join us in celebration of ZaChoeje Rinpoche’s birthday, Sunday, August 31, 5:00pm-8:00pm. Everyone is welcome. Bring your family, swim suit, towel and a favorite dish to share for the pot luck. This is an opportunity to spend time with Rinpoche, catch up with friends, meet new ones and enjoy great food as we bid happy returns to Rinpoche and farewell to summer 2014.

In honor of our kind and generous teacher Rinpoche, the children's program scheduled for the morning of the party will meet at the party instead. This will be an auspicious opportunity for the children to be with Rinpoche and the sangha in a happy social event.

We'll have games especially for the kids, great food, swimming, and above all this is an opportunity for all of us to come together with our teacher and sangha in summer fun.

The party will be at a private residence at 1705 N. Forest, Mesa AZ 85203. You can call 602-799-2497 if you need assistance with directions. Parking on Forest, Ivyglen and Indigo. Look for prayer flags to find the home.

Please RSVP and coordinate your pot-luck dish with Donna Tash at donna@emahofoundation.org. It helps us with the planning.

Donate a day of work to the Dharma

Imagine dedicating one day of your work to the Dharma. Wherever your work takes you for that one day, you will bring the intention of developing Bodhicitta to all your actions.

To commemorate ZaChoeje's birthday in August we are supporting our second annual Work A Day for Rinpoche. In Rinpoche's honor we are asking those who would like to participate to donate the equivalent of one day's pay to Emaho in Rinpoche's honor.

Please donate a day’s wage, or any amount you are able to offer. Contributions help fund Emaho Foundation’s mission and help pay for the ongoing expenses associated with running the center.

On a day of your choosing, as you Work A Day for Rinpoche, you can aspire to move through the day with thoughts of Bodhisattva intention and gratitude for finding an auspicious lineage master from whom to receive the Dharma.

You can choose the amount you wish to donate by using the PayPal button below, or you can mail your donation directly to Emaho Foundation at PO Box 1563 Litchfield Park AZ 85340-1563.

CHENREZIG EMPOWERMENT AND RETREAT

with ZaChoeje Rinpoche
June 6-8
Emaho Center

Please note: space is limited! Sign up well ahead of the event to reserve your spot.

We are pleased to announce that ZaChoeje Rinpoche has been requested and has agreed to bestow the 1000-Armed Avalokiteshvara, Chenrezig, empowerment. Rinpoche will bestow the empowerment at our June retreat, which begins Friday June 6 and concludes Sunday June 8.

This is Emaho's 11th annual retreat. We are very fortunate to have regular retreats with a High Lama. Take advantage of this opportunity to spend time with Rinpoche.

This year we will hold the retreat at Emaho Center.

Avalokiteshvara, Chenrezig is the embodiment of all the infinite Buddhas' compassionate wisdom. With his mantra, Om Mani Padme Hum, we generate a mind tirelessly attempting to deliver all beings from suffering.

As we practice 1,000 arm Avalokiteshvara, Chenrezig, we learn to tune our minds to the sensitivity of the suffering of others. Our hearts open and we become moved by love and compassion bringing us the ability to deeply and sincerely act for the benefit of others. Overcoming our selfish attitude we act without concern for name, fame, or personal gain. The knowledge of true love and compassion brings us to the realization that all of us, all sentient brings, are interconnected. This truth brings us a profound respect for all things. True Compassion is the path to freedom from suffering.

The suggested donation for the retreat is $150.00. Please register early by using the Paypal button below or in person before the Wednesday meditations at the center with Melissa . Due to the size of our center, registration will be limited to first come, first served. We are unable to offer attendance to the empowerment only, due to limited space.

Please know, no one is ever turned away for lack of funds.

If you are unable to complete registration online please email Melissa. Emaho does not ask for donations from anyone to receive the dharma. Dharma is always given without consideration of suggested donation. Donations received help with Emaho Foundation's operating expenses.

Animal Blessing by Rinpoche- Includes All Animals, Present or Not!

March 22, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Rinpoche knows that for many of us our animals are family, as much a part of our family as any person in the household, and that our pets play an important part in enriching our lives.

It has been requested of Rinpoche to bestow blessings for our animals. Rinpoche will bless all critters great and small March 30, 1-3 at Emaho Center. He is offering two different blessings: one for those animals with us and a second, a puja, for those animals who have passed.

If you’re bringing your pet, please have your animal on a leash or crated. We want to ensure safety for all attending.

If you’re unable to come to the center or live out of state or out of the country, please send a picture accompanied with your pet’s name. Send your photos to mail@emahofoundation.org. We will see they get to Rinpoche for this auspicious event.

We suggest a $25 donation for one or as many pets as you would like blessed. Revenue received from the blessing will go to helping Emaho with ongoing operating expenses. If possible, we ask that participants sign up ahead of time with Paypal.

We will have arts and crafts for kids and adults. Bring your camera, iPhone or iPad and capture your pet with Rinpoche. We’ll have water, treats and clean up supplies. If you have towels or blankets to donate, please bring and we’ll see that they go to an animal shelter.

May all that have life be delivered from suffering

Pilgrimage with ZaChoeje Rinpoche

January 25 - February 9, 2014

Contact info: mail@emahofoundation.org

ZaChoeje Rinpoche has kindly accepted requests to lead a trip following in the footsteps of Buddha. The trip begins in Kathmandu, Nepal on January 25th and concludes in Varanasi, India on Feb 9th. This is an opportunity to travel with an authentic lineage master to the places Buddha was born, found enlightenment, taught, and passed away.

"There are four places Ananda, which the believing man should visit with feelings of reverence and awe. What are the four? The place, Ananda, at which the believing man can say, Here the Tathagata was born. The place, Ananda, at which the believing man can say, Here the Tathagata attained the supreme and perfect insight. The place, Ananda, at which the believing man can say, Here was the kingdom of righteousness set on foot by the Tathagata. The place, Ananda, at which the believing man can say, Here the Tathagata passed finally away in that utter passing away which leaves nothing whatever to remain behind."

GOAL AND MANTRA COLLECTION

Download a pledge form and collect contributions from your friends:

Download pledge form (pdf).

The marathon is a global fundraiser in which we raise money to continue the work of ZaChoeje Rinpoche and to support Emaho’s three-fold mission. Most importantly Emaho’s Mantrathon welcomes the new year with wishes for a peaceful year, a year of beneficial resolution to world problems, a year of healing and happiness.

The mantra will begin at sunrise and end at sunset. In Phoenix sunrise is 7:33 am, sunset 5:40. Around the world people adjust following Phoenix time.

Please determine how many mantras you will recite per dollar pledged. For example, you could recite 100, 500, or 1,000 mantras per dollar. Gather friends and family to help your effort. We are suggesting a donation of at least $108. Please know that, with or without donation, you are welcome.

Please keep track of your mantra collection. We will tally and announce the number of Om Mani Pade Hums chanted globally.

Following Rinpoche's suggestion, Jae-Min will lead the chanting practice sessions for Guru Puja.

Jae-Min learned chants from the late Geshe Pal Tsering who founded Trashi Ganden Choepel Ling in New Zealand, one of Emaho's sister centers.

Learning mostly through observing and copying Geshe-la, Jae-Min first started to lead chants during the times when Geshe-la was travelling.

Jae-Mine will be sharing the tunes used for the Guru Puja, one of the regular practices at Trashi Ganden Choepel Ling.
