Jataka Tales

Jataka in Pali and Sanskrit means birth. These popular stories of the former lives of Buddha helps us develope personal characteristics beneficial for those aspiring for the enlightened state free from suffering and the causes of suffering.

These stories help us see how to develop knowledge while learning how to face our struggles. These stories show us how to develop values and qualities such as patience, forbearance, tolerance, loving-kindness, compassion, and equanimity. The purpose of these stories helps us develop the moral and ethical tools we can use to create a more peaceful and healthy global community. Geshe will tell one story each class. Attending each class and submitting a written paper will qualify the student to receive a certificate of accomplishment of this important subject in Buddhism.
