ahimsa 11

This Sunday, December 9, 1:00-3:00, Geshe Namgyal and Geshe Lobsang will perform the Menla Dochog prayer ceremony.

Each year we celebrate Ahimsa in celebration of the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to his Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.  In the spirit of Ahimsa, a Sanskrit word for nonviolence, the monks will be giving to us the Menla Dochog ceremony.  This auspicious ceremony brings the healing power of Medicine Buddha, helping it spread throughout the community.  In honor of His Holiness, together we will recite his long life prayer.

Schedule
1:00-1:30 Sangha get together; cookies and coffee
1:30-1:40 About His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama
1:45 Together we will recite His Holiness' Long Life Prayer
2:00-2:45 Menla Dochog Medicine Buddha Healing Ceremony

It has been requested of ZaChoeje Rinpoche to keep the Medicine Buddha sand mandala intact a few more months so those who could not join us can come to the center to take advantage of the spiritual energy inherent in the Mandala. The Medicine Buddha dismantling ceremony will now be held in the early spring.

Please bring an item for underneath the Giving Tree.  See our Compassion in Action page for a list of items the school has requested.

Please share with us the beginning of your holiday season by joining us for Ahimsa and the auspicious Menla Dochog prayer ceremony.
