We are exceedingly happpy to welcome Geshe Namgyal Sangpo to Emaho as a resident teacher.  Having a second knowledgable Geshe to help Emaho expand programming is a fantastic opportunity for us.

In 1993, Geshe Namgyal entered Drepung Loseling Monastery. He has studied Tibetan Buddhism for 25 years.  He completed his study in the five major treatises of Buddhism, Tibetan literature, and the history of the Gelugpa tradition at Drepung Loseling Monastery. Geshe Namgyal received his Geshe degree, an equivalent to a Western PH.D.,  in 2013.

After graduating and studying an additional year Geshe joined Richard Greer’s Mystical Arts of Tibet tour. Mystical Arts is a world tour endorsed by His Holiness the Dalai Lama to promote world peace and healing by sharing Tibet’s rich and authentic sacred performing and visual arts with modern audiences. After touring the United States, Mexico, and Korea for nearly two years Geshe Namgyal returned to Drepung Loseling Monastery.

ZaChoeje Rinpoche’s vision for Emaho Foundation is to include a knowledgable, experienced monk trained in the arts to teach and share with a broader audience. Geshe is skilled in performing numerous pujas, experienced in building sand mandalas, chanting, spiritual painting, and Tibetan Buddhist ritual.

Please ask Geshe Namgyal if you want a specific puja performed for you, a beloved, or for all beings. These are but a few of the pujas he can perform: Medicine Buddha, White Tara, Chenrezig, Manjushri, Du Kar.  You will find a complete list and their benefits on our resource page.

Geshe Namgyal is with us on an 36-month R-1 visa.  While he is with us, please take advantage of this opportunity to get to know this extraordinary individual.
